Who we are

Bridge Teachers is a volunteer pre-screening portal that helps a public school corporation in North Manchester, Indiana, find qualified Spanish-speaking teachers for its dual-language immersion program. We are not a visa sponsor, an employer, a law firm or a government agency.

What we collect

Your name, email, contact details, professional profile (education, teaching experience, languages), the documents you upload (CV, diplomas, experience letters, certificates), and, with your explicit consent, the video and audio recording of your interview.

Do not upload your passport, social security or bank information. We don't need them. The official J-1 sponsor will ask for them directly if your application moves forward.

Why we use it

Only to check your eligibility, interview you, and share your file with the school's hiring and program team so they can decide. We do not sell or publish your data.

Who can see it

You; our interviewers and administrator; and the school's program coordinator(s), who see your file only after you pass our screening. Every time a staff member opens a document or a recording, it is recorded in an access log.

How we protect it

Encrypted connections (HTTPS). Documents and recordings are encrypted on our server (AES-256) and are never publicly accessible. Passwords are stored with a strong one-way hash (Argon2).

How long we keep it

Interview recordings and documents of applications that are not moving forward are deleted automatically 180 days after the final decision. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

Interview recording

Interviews are recorded only if you agree before the interview starts. The recording is used only to evaluate your application and is shared only with the school's program team.
